The Delusional Art Manifesto

The Delusional Art Manifesto

You've heard it before- the well-meaning advice to get a real job. The side-eye when you say you are an artist. The algorithm that buries your work. The silence after posting something you are proud of.

Delusional, they say. So we took the word.

What we mean by delusional:

You refuse to let the algorithm,
or the gatekeepers
define your worth.

You believed in yourself before anyone else did.
You tried before you had proof it would work.

The real delusion is:

REFUSING to learn how the market actually works.
CHASING the algorithm.
WAITING for things to happen.
BELIEVING that talent is enough.

What we believe

We believe artists should lift each other up, not tear each other down.
We believe you can make money and make meaning.
We believe a life as an independent artist is accessible to you.

How to show up

Be honest about where you are.
No fantasy. No denial. Reality always gets a vote.
Do the work.
No one is coming to save you.
Stay open.
Who you are as an artist might change. Adapt.
Help others.
Keep making.
At the end of the day, you are an artist.
The work is the point.
Everything else is support.
